November 2023 Announcements

Welcome to November! The month of Gratitude.

As Christians, we know that God created us to be people of worship! Knowing who God is, that he loves you, that he has a purpose for you, and that you get to worship him and have a relationship with him naturally leads us to a place of gratitude! That’s why Paul tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18: REJOICE ALWAYS, 17 PRAY CONTINUALLY, 18 GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES; FOR THIS IS GOD’S WILL FOR YOU IN CHRIST JESUS.

November Birthdays & Anniversaries

Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to all of our members and friends who are celebrating this month. We pray that God’s marvelous grace and His light will continue to cover you always. Happy birthday and happy anniversary to you all!

Christian Education

Please join us Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. for our Sunday biblical teaching in the sanctuary for all ages. Our teaching this month is “The Book of 1 Corinthians” by Jennie Allen.

Bible study is held every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. This month our biblical teaching is titled “Unashamed” by Lecrae.

Teaching young people how to grow in their relationship with Christ and thrive in their daily lives will help them mature and become adults who are confident in their faith.

Parents, our SBWC Youth Ministry is in session every Tuesday at 6 p.m. Please contact Sister Alice Reid for more information.

Senior Social

The senior adult ministry meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., which will be on November 15th this month. So, please mark your calendars so that you can take part in some great activities and fellowship.

Thanksgiving

All referrals for a Thanksgiving box are due to be turned in today. If you have not had the chance to donate non-perishables, please see the list of items needed for the boxes in the foyer. If you have any questions, please see Sister Claudia Owen or Lady Garner.

Thanksgiving Turkeys

Pastor has asked that you donate a turkey so that we can provide for those who are in need. If you are interested in donating, please purchase a turkey no larger than 14 pounds. You may drop off your turkey on Tuesday, November 14th, or Wednesday, November 15th, between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the back entrance of the Fellowship Hall. Please see me if you need to make other arrangements. We thank you in advance for your generosity.

Veterans Day

Veterans Day is a day to honor those who served and those who have the fortune of coming back home. America’s veterans should be honored every day of the year, but November 11th is a national day to recognize the sacrifices of our nation’s heroes. If you know someone who has served or is still serving, take a moment and tell them, “Thank you!”

Women’s Ministry

The women’s ministry will meet on Saturday, November 18th, at 11:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. All ladies 13 and up are invited to attend.

Tithe & Offering

The main principle behind tithing and giving is the fact that what we do with our money shows where our heart is.  The tithe is the Lord’s way of asking us to show our love. Giving God a percentage of our earnings shows that we put our love for him before our need for money.

There are several ways to give:

  1. Online at sbw.center
  2. Text SBWC and the gift amount to 73256
  3. Givelify App
  4. The church drop slot
  5. By mail: 414 Silver Road, 34472

Remember, God loves a cheerful giver.

That concludes the announcements
