This is also a wonderful opportunity to involve your employers, colleagues, family, and friends in our celebration by inviting them to be sponsors too. Details and sponsorship letters are available in the foyer. Orders can be placed easily online at our website, sbw.center. That’s sbw.center.

Take as many letters as you need to share, and don’t forget to follow up with those you invite. Space is limited, so we encourage early submissions.  Please don’t wait to secure your space. We look forward to your participation and support as we prepare for this very special occasion.

Tithe & Offering

Did you know that financial struggles don’t free us from God’s command to give generously and joyfully. The Lord calls us to generosity, not because he needs our resources, but because he desires the best for us. Generosity requires trust, not money. No one can live generously without trusting the Lord. A wealthy person can give vast amounts of money apart from Christ, but true generosity requires sacrificial giving in joyful submission to the Lord. For that, you must trust that God is a good Father who will provide for you and that you matter to Him.

2 Corinthians 9:7 gives us freedom in our generosity. God doesn’t want gifts motivated by a sense of duty or obligation. He wants us to give from a place of joy and compassion. God loves a cheerful giver! There are several ways to give your tithe and offering!

Remember, God love a cheerful giver.

On behalf of Pastor Garner and our SBWC family, we pray that God will bless you mightily in all areas of your life. If you are without a church home and would like to unite with other believers in Jesus Christ, please know that we have a place right here for you.

And as a reminder, if you are watching via YouTube or Facebook, please help spread the gospel by subscribing to, liking, and sharing our videos with your friends and family.

Have a blessed day in the Lord!

March 2024 Announcements

March’s Birthdays & Anniversaries

Happy Birthday to all of our members and friends who are blessed enough to be born during this wonderful month of hope! And happy anniversary to all celebrating this month. We pray for God’s continued blessings and happiness on these special occasions for many more years to come.

Happy birthday and happy anniversary to you all!

Christian Education

Please join us Sunday mornings at 9:30 am for our Sunday Biblical teaching in the sanctuary for all ages. This month, we will learn about “The Book of Hebrews” by Derwin Gray. The book of Hebrews was written for people in crisis. They were persecuted, tempted by the rampant sin around them, and doubting their faith in Jesus. It was not so different than what many of us go through today. So, join us in this eight-session series as he walks through Hebrews, teaching us how to live for Jesus in every season of life. Hebrews shows us that Jesus is better than anything the world can offer.

Tuesday Bible study is offered at 11:00 am and 6:00 pm. This month, we will continue to learn about the book “Exodus.”. Exodus explores the foundational story of the Israelites and reveals an all-powerful, intimately personal God. And it helps us understand God’s redemptive plan for all humanity. We’ve reserved a seat just for you.

Youth Ministry

SBWC’s youth ministry meets every Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall with Sister Alice Reid. We encourage you to come out as a family to learn more about God’s plan for us.

Great Day of Giving

Great Day of Giving”! This is a time of sacrificial giving above your tithe and offering. Please see the ushers for one of the special envelopes for this offering. This special offering will be collected on Easter Sunday, so please hold this envelope until then. If you choose to use one of our online giving platforms through Givelify or Realm, please be sure to choose the “Great Day of Giving” envelope. We are expecting an abundant blessing from God through your sacrifice.

Women’s Ministry

The women’s ministry will meet on Saturday, March 9th, at 11:00 am in the Fellowship Hall in preparation for our Drive-Thru-Prayer event. All ladies, 18 and up are invited to attend.

Spring Forward

Get ready to start enjoying the daylight a little longer. Please remember to adjust your clocks one hour forward next Saturday night, March 9th, at midnight. We would not want you to miss morning worship!

SBWC’s Drive-Thru-Prayer

Get ready, get ready, get ready to go to war in the spirit, because our people are under attack by the enemy, the devil! Prayer is our way of communicating with God. When the Apostle Paul talks about spiritual warfare in Ephesians 6, prayer is the seventh piece of armor. It activates all of the rest of the spiritual armor.

Prayer is the divinely authorized mechanism God has given us to tap into His power. Without prayer, we’ll be ineffective in spiritual warfare. But with it, we will be victorious.

SBWC’s WOW Ministry will be sponsoring a drive-through prayer event on Saturday, March 16th, from 11:00–1:00 pm on our church grounds. We are soliciting your prayers and support as we stand in the gap through prayer for those in need.

Senior Social

Staying socially active is important for all adults. It can improve our emotional, intellectual, and physical wellness.

The senior adult ministry meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 11am to 2pm, which will be on March 20th. So please mark your calendars so that you can take part in some great activities and fellowship.

Easter Service

Easter is on March 31st this year. It is a joyous holiday celebrated by Christians. It represents the fulfillment of the prophecies of the Old Testament and the revelation of God’s salvation plan for all mankind. In commemorating the Resurrection of Jesus, we invite you to celebrate the defeat of death and the hope of salvation with us here at SBWC.

Please note that the Easter worship service will begin at 10:00 am on March 31st!

Tithe & Offering

Did you know that money is mentioned over 800 times in the Bible? God knew money would be something we would hold tightly to and place a lot of importance on. Matthew 6:21 says, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

We want to keep before you your spiritual obligation as a believer to tithe, which is 10% of your first fruits that God has blessed you with.

There are several ways to give your tithe and offerings!

Online at sbw.center,

  1. Text SBWC and the gift amount to 73256)
  2. Givelify app
  3. the church drop-off slot
  4. by mail to 414 Silver Road, 34472

December 2023

Greetings in Jesus’ name, and welcome to the m

onth of giving!

This is the time of year when we turn our attention to the birth of our savior,

the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is the “Prince of Peace,” and God bestows peace upon his people, as in the Psalms.

Psalms 9:9-10: “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.”

As we celebrate the Lord’s birthday this month with renewed hope and peace in our hearts, we also want to embrace one another with peace and joy.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

December’s Birthdays & Anniversaries

Happy Birthday to all of our members and friends who are blessed enough to be born during this beautiful time of giving. And happy anniversary to all celebrating this month. We pray for God’s continued blessings and happiness on these special occasions for many more years to come.

Happy birthday and anniversary  to you all!

Christian Education

Please join us Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. for our Sunday Biblical teaching in the sanctuary for all ages. Our lesson this month is “The Unexpected” by Jason Turner.

Parents, our SBWC Youth Ministry is in session every Tuesday at 6 p.m. Please contact Sister Alice Reid for more information.

Senior Social

Being socially involved and active gives people a sense of belonging that provides added health benefits. Staying socially active is especially important for adults, who can sometimes become lonely and isolated. It can also improve emotional, intellectual, and physical wellness.

The senior adult ministry meets on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., which will be on December 20th. So please mark your calendars so that you can take part in some great activities and fellowship.

Holiday Office Schedule

Due to the holiday season, the church office will be closed for business from December 24th through January 2nd.

Tithe & Offering

The main principle behind tithing and giving is the fact that what we do with our money shows where our heart is.  The tithe is the Lord’s way of asking us to show our love. Giving God a percentage of our earnings shows that we put our love for him before our need for money.

There are several ways to give:

  1. online at sbw.center,
  2. Text SBWC and the gift amount to 73256.
  3. Givelify App, the church drop slot
  4. or by mail to 414 Silver Road, 34472.

God loves a cheerful giver.

Can Good Collection Drive

Hunger is a health issue, and it’s the reason why people struggling with food insecurity need help with healthy food. Beginning this month, I am asking the family and friends of Shores Baptist to donate five canned goods a month to help offset the cost of feeding our community.

Our goal is to collect 6,000 canned goods this year.

What types of items are needed? I’m glad you asked.

Fruits: canned fruit (in its own juice), dried fruit, 100% fruit juice. Canned vegetables, 100% vegetable juice, spaghetti sauce Rice, pasta, crackers, ready-to-eat cereal, and oatmeal Canned meat or poultry, canned tuna or salmon, canned or dried beans and peas, peanut butter beef stew, canned soup, and chili.

To Donate:

Drop your items off in the boxes in the foyer weekly or monthly, and they will be counted.

A weekly total will be shared with the congregation so that we will know if we are meeting our monthly goal of 500 can goods.

So SBWC, I hope you are pumped up and ready to serve, because the time has now come that we are being called upon !

God bless you.

On behalf of Pastor Garner and the SBWC family, we would like to thank you for worshipping with us today.

And, if you are watching via YouTube or Facebook, please help spread the gospel by subscribing to, liking, and sharing this video with your friends and family.

Have a blessed day in the Lord!

November 2023 Announcements

Welcome to November! The month of Gratitude.

As Christians, we know that God created us to be people of worship! Knowing who God is, that he loves you, that he has a purpose for you, and that you get to worship him and have a relationship with him naturally leads us to a place of gratitude! That’s why Paul tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18: REJOICE ALWAYS, 17 PRAY CONTINUALLY, 18 GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES; FOR THIS IS GOD’S WILL FOR YOU IN CHRIST JESUS.

November Birthdays & Anniversaries

Veterans Day

Veterans Day is a day to honor those who served and those who have the fortune of coming back home.
