Vision Retreats saved our marriage!

The Mayfield’s take vision retreats twice per year to receive instructions from God regarding His vision for our life and ministries.
Last year, after nearly a decade of vision retreats, Arletia decided to share our strategy in an ebook. Our pastors were kind enough to endorse it.
Below is a promo for the ebook. It can be purchased once and copied every time you have a retreat.
Feel free to share this resource with couples.

SBWC Marriage Ministry – Private Facebook Group

Building and Strengthening Marriages, at any season, according to God’s Kingdom Principles.

The SBWC Marriage Ministry – Private Facebook Group is restricted to SBWC Married couples only. Click button below.

This is a place of communication, teaching, fun posts, and fellowship. It is a private, public place. What does that mean? It is private, but is not the forum for marriage counseling issues.

If you need very private advice please contact Senior Pastor Garner, or Minister Franklin Mayfield.

Listen to God and ask Him for guidance

When we face moments of hurt and pain in our relationships, scripture is a great place to turn to. When our marriages are struggling , it’s easy to focus on what’s wrong instead of stopping to listen to God and ask Him for guidance.
I feel this group will be a place to gain knowledge support and Godly counsel.

About SBWC Marriage Ministry

The focus of the SBWC Marriage Ministry is to reveal the pattern, plan and purpose of Marriage as God designed it. This is not a theoretical understanding of marriage, but a practical application of God’s biblical principles that are always based on “Faith which worketh by Love.”— Galatians 5:6. It takes faith, and God’s Love to maintain the God ordained covenant of Marriage. God’s marriages are Kingdom, God lead, and balanced.

Soul Winning Class (in August 2022)

Soul Winning is our Great Commission from our Lord.   It’s not just for preachers.  It is a commandment to ALL BELIEVERS.

THE GOAL FOR THIS CLASS IS TO:  Encourage, Empower & Deploy SBWC membership into the Great Commission

The Great Commission – Matthew 28:16-20 KJV
16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

God doesn’t want anyone to go to hell – John 3:16 KJV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

When you do it for them, you do it for Jesus – Matthew 25:35-40 NKJV
…for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

Faith without Works is Dead – James 2:14-17 NKJV
What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

When you see someone in need, help them – 1 John 3:17 NKJV
But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?

The Lord will repay you for your generosity – Proverbs 19:17 ESV
Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.

All of us take steps to see that we have enough to eat and clothes to keep us warm, a job to sustain our standard of living, we even indulge in certain luxuries. But do we take our spiritual needs that seriously? Do we apply the same earnestness to nurturing our relationship with God as we do in nurturing our physical needs and appearance?

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;  but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.  Matthew 6:19-21 NKJV

Shores Baptist Worship Center can help you strengthen your spiritual life.  We offer Christian Education Classes that help you understand the Bible, so you can know what the will of God is for your life, and it is better than you ever imagined.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.  Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV
