Wow, I can’t believe we are approaching the end of another school year already? Time really flies when you’re having fun.
I would like to take just a few minutes to tell you about this week’s announcements.
May Birthdays & Anniversaries
Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary to all our members and friends who are celebrating this month. On behalf of Pastor Garner, we pray that God will make sure that there is never a shortage of love and care in your life. May this birthday or Anniversary become the most memorable day in your life! Christian Education
SUNDAY SCHOOL
Please join us every Sunday morning at 9:00am for our Sunday Biblical teaching. This month we will be teaching on “Holy Habits” by Pastor Derwin Gray in the main sanctuary for all ages.
BIBLE STUDY
Tuesday Bible study is offered at 11:00am and 6:00pm. Come join us May 9th through June 20th and find out if you have a seat at the table as we begin our series titled “Table Talks” by Bianca Juarez. Come out and have your life transformed.
YOUTH MINISTRY
Parents: please bring your children out Tuesday evenings at 6:00pm to Youth ministry with sister Alice Reid. As a reminder, when we stand upon the foundation of Christ, we are more able to notice and withstand Satan’s influences in our lives.
Movie Day (Jesus Revolution)
This is an invitation for all SBWC members and friends to come out Saturday, May 13th at 1:00 PM.
This movie is a true story of a national spiritual awakening in the early 1970s Where a charismatic street preacher and a pastor open the doors of the church to a stream of wandering youth. What unfolds is a counterculture movement that becomes the greatest spiritual awakening in American history.
The movie will be shown in the Fellowship Hall. So, if you are planning to attend, please use the signup sheet in the foyer.
Mother’s Day
May 14th – the 2nd Sunday in May.
Mothers are special because they are always there when needed, they are willing to let go even when it hurts. Mothers are special because they care enough to say no when needed. Mothers are special because they always welcome you with an open heart and open arms, and they love unconditional. Isaiah 66:13 says, “For this is what the Lord says, as a mother comforts her son, so I will comfort you”. Please mark your calendars for
Senior Social
The senior adult ministry will meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 11am to 2pm, which will be on May 17th. That’s right, so please mark your calendars so that you can take part in some great activities and fellowship.
Fully Fit Café
Hello SBWC, fully fit family and friends. Our Fully Fit Fitness program is cancelled May 20th due to our WOW Ministry fellowship. We will resume our normal schedule of the first and the third Saturday next month.
Fully Fit Finance Class
As a follow up to Pastor’s series on faith, family, fitness, and finance. We will begin our 10-week finance class Wednesday, May 10th at 6:00pm. This is just another part of our journey in becoming fully fit. Pastor Garner will be contacting all those who have signed up to confirm that you will be attending the class.
Women of Worth Ministry
Our next WOW fellowship is scheduled for Saturday, May 20th. 10:00am to 2:00pm.
Our theme is “The Master Designer”. We will have a fashion show to demonstrate how we as children of God should dress and still be fashionable. We will have a light lunch and be taught the word of God.
Ephesians 2:10 (CSB), “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.”
Join us for faith, fellowship, and fashion as we come together once again to empower, uplift, inspire, share, and learn how to embrace being the women of worth that God has created us to be. February 2023 Announcements
Good morning, we are so happy to have you worshiping with us at Shores Baptist today those of you who are in person and those online. February is a short month, and we are jammed packed with activities. I would like to take just a moment to bring you up on some of the happenings this month.

Christian Education
Please join us every Sunday morning at 9:00am for our Sunday Biblical teaching. This month we will continue our teaching on “One At A Time” by Pastor Kyle Idleman in the main sanctuary for all ages.
Tuesday Bible study is offered at 11:00am and 6:00pm. This month we invite you to come out and learn how “Your Time Is Now”. We’ve reserved a seat just for you.
Parents this is a reminder that the Youth ministry; which includes our high
schoolers meets every Tuesday evening at 6:00pm in the Fellowship Hall with sis Alice Reid. We encourage you to come out as a family to learn more about the Word of God!
Team Spirit Sunday
Next Sunday, February 12th is Super Bowl; one of the biggest days in sports. Here at Shores Baptist we call it team spirit day. Please feel free to represent your favorite team by wearing their team colors or jersey.
Food Pantry
The pantry is open for distribution on Thursdays from 11:00am – 3:00pm.

Senior Social
Attention! This is a special message for our SBWC family and Friends who are 60 years and older. The senior adult ministry will meet on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 11am to 2pm, which is February 15th. That’s right, so please mark your calendars to that you can take part in some great activities and fellowship.
If you are in need of transportation, please speak with Minister Grace Malcolm.
Fully Fit Café
Just a friendly reminder that our Fully Fit Fitness program meets the 1st and the 3rd Saturday of each month in the Fellowship Hall at 9:00am. So set your alarm clocks, pull out those walking shoes and get ready to embark on your fully fit journey. And remember, you do not have to be a member to participate.
Heart Health Month
The National Heart Association is promoting awareness about heart health and inspiring people to prevent heart disease. This year’s theme, “#Our Hearts are Healthier Together,” emphasizes the importance of people working together to make heart healthy lifestyle changes.
To bring greater attention to heart disease as the leading cause of death in the U.S, SBWC’s wear Red Day will be February 19th which is the 3rd Sunday of this month.
Ethnic Pride Sunday
In honor of Black History Month, Sunday, February 26th is Ethnic Pride dress day. This is a time to show up in your African Best.

The Great Day of Giving
“Great Day of Giving”! This is a time of sacrificial giving above your tithe. This offering will be taken on Easter Sunday, which is April 9th. Special envelopes will be available next month. We are expecting an abundant blessing from God through your sacrifice.

November 2022 Announcements
The holiday season is quickly approaching. We are rapidly winding down to the end of the year, and at Shores Baptist Worship Center, we have a lot of exciting things planned for the remainder of the year.

Christian Education
Please join us for Sunday School at 9:00am. This month we are exploring the book of Galatians in the main sanctuary for all ages.
Tuesday Bible Study is at 11:00am and 6:00pm. This month we invite you to come out and learn how to Fight Your Battles with the Word of God.
New Believer’s/Members class (Part 2) will begin Wednesday, November 30th at 5:30pm for six weeks for those who have completed Part 1.

SBWC Safety Protocols
The wearing of a mask is still mandatory within the sanctuary at Shores Baptist Worship Center . We have several groups of people with health conditions that put them at higher risk of becoming severely ill if they contract COVID-19. Wearing a medical face mask protects you and them against infection. The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that face masks are not harmful. They do not cause a lack of oxygen or carbon dioxide poisoning. We understand the wearing a mask may sometimes be a little uncomfortable for some, so please be sure to wear one that fits you well. Thank you for complying with this request.
Veterans Day
Veterans Day is a day to honor those who served in the military, and those who have been blessed to return home. America’s veterans should be honored every day of the year, but Friday, November 11th is a national day to recognize the sacrifices of our nation’s heroes. If you know someone who has served or is still serving, take a moment to tell them THANK YOU!
Thanksgiving
Please mark your calendars for November 24, 2022. The Lord has blessed Shores Baptist Worship Center to pass out 100 thanksgiving meals again this year on Thanksgiving day from 1:00 to 3:00pm. Sign-up forms are located in the foyer. All forms must be returned by next Sunday November 13, 2022, to Lady Garner, Sister Claudia or the Food Pantry between the hours of 11am-3pm.
Women of Worth
Attention all ladies! SBWC Women of Worth will be joining forces with Women add Value (hosted by Minister Marisel Santana) for a Global Summit entitled: The Seven Mountains of Social Influence. December 16 & 17, 2022.
Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade developed a God-given, world changing strategy. His mandate was to bring godly change to a nation by reaching its seven spheres or mountains of social influence: which are religion, family, education, government, media, arts, entertainment, and businesses. He concluded that in order to truly transform any nation with the gospel of Jesus Christ, these seven facets of society must be reached. So, please be on the look out for more information concerning this 2-day conference.

The main principle behind tithing and giving is the fact that what we do with our money shows where our heart is. Matthew 6:21 says “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” When we are able to give 10% or more of our income instead of keeping that money for ourselves, it shows that our heart isn’t tied to our money and that we love God’s commandments more than our money.

Food Pantry
The Food Pantry is open for distribution. We are so blessed to be able to help individuals in need through this feeding ministry. The pantry will be open for distribution on Thursdays from 11:00am – 3:00pm.

In Biblical times, a disciple referred to anyone studying under, and trying to emulate, a valued teacher. To modern day Christians, it means a follower of Christ who leads by following his example.
In John 13:34-35, Jesus says “Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Discipleship is a process of not only holding onto your faith but growing in it so that you may lead others toward Christ by your example of love.
